![]() ![]() What didn't I like? That this novel is a trilogy. I loved the way Han alternated Belly's perspective from the present summer with memories of summers past. It was easy to read, with a plot that kept me wanting more. And when Susannah, the boys' mother, admits that her cancer has returned and is spreading very aggressively, things really fall apart.Maybe my review of this book sounds shallow, all about boys and Belly finally knowing what it's like to be pretty. ![]() Obviously this makes things way more complicated. He's perfect to her.And then there's Jeremiah, Conrad's brother, who confesses his love for Belly. She thinks she's loved him since she was 10 years old. Except she's really in love with Conrad, one of the guys who lives in the beach house. She dates a neighbor, Cam, who really likes her. Hence the title, The Summer I Turned Pretty, written by Jenny Han. But this year, the summer she turns 16, is going to be different.
